The Detroit Marriott represents more than a decade of hotel asset management experience. CHM’s senior executives have been involved with this asset since 1996, the relationship pre-dating and carrying through the formation of CHM. This 1,297-room, 50-story property anchors the 5.5 million square foot Renaissance Center, a mixed-use office and retail development situated in the heart of Detroit’s downtown. With more than 120,000 square feet of meeting space, the Detroit Marriott is the principal hotel serving the Cobo Center, among one of the largest convention/exhibition complexes in the United States.

CHM was brought in as hotel asset advisor at the onset to assist ownership in selecting a new management company, negotiating the operating agreement and overseeing the transition from Westin to Marriott. In addition, CHM was an active member of the team responsible for overseeing the $125 million renovation and repositioning of the Marriott, which at that time was one of the single largest hotel renovation projects completed in the world. Today, CHM maintains offices on-site and provides ongoing asset management and hotel investment advisory services, working collaboratively with the operating team to enhance performance and optimize value of the Detroit Marriott and adjacent Courtyard Detroit.
